Welcome to the Eco-tourism in Poland website. We invite you to familiarise yourself with our unique, one-of-a-kind, and remarkable offer of active holidays.
The Eco-tourism in Poland expeditions presented here were created by the Civil Affairs Institute, independent foundation with its headquarters in Łódź (central Poland). We offer three meticulously prepared and designed expeditions into different parts of Poland: Two hiking tours in the Beskidy mountains and one canoeing trip with hiking in northeastern Poland (the so-called "Green Lungs" of Poland). Our aim is to compose a programme that will present three different regions of Poland. The northeast of the country is a crossroads of cultures, distinguished by a harmonious landscape and unpolluted and well-preserved nature.
Beskid Żywiecki is the highest part of the Beskidy mountains, second after the Tatra mountains. The area offers vivid elements of mountain culture and the mountaineering way of life. Beskid Sądecki is a picturesque mountain range covered with Carpathian forests and has traces of two cultures: Polish mountain dwellers and the Lemko's (Łemkowie) ethnic group. In order to fully experience the specific characteristics of these regions we offer leisure activities that include long wanderings, sleeping in traditional mountain hostels and in regional agro-touristic houses or typical riverside hostels.
The programme has been designed in such a way as to make it adventurous. We don't make any rigid schedules or fixed arrangements; instead we believe that an authentic adventure is what makes it unique.
